| Driving Directions and Parking Information From Victoria follow the Pat Bay Highway north (20 - 25 minutes). Watch for signs to Sidney. Exit right on Beacon Avenue (Sidney's main street). The first set of stoplights is at Beacon and Resthaven. The Beacon Yarn Studio is 1/2 block ahead of you on your left just past the Best Western. Turn left at the lights (Resthaven). Make an immediate right into the Best Western driveway. Drive straight through the parking lot, turn right, and stay in the parking lot. Choose a place to park that will not interfere with hotel guests. The Beacon Yarn Studio is nestled in the row of businesses across from the hotel's lobby. |

Knitting Olympics - are you ready to play along?
It all begins on Friday, August 8. The opening ceremonies are early early early for us here on the coast - the CBC shows their coverage beginning at 4:00 a.m. local time. Should you be up and watching, you are free to cast on when the flame is lit, and good for you for getting up early! Everyone else - the official start time will be 9:00 a.m. pdt on Aug 8, 2008.
To celebrate the beginning of the games we are having a potluck breakfast at the Beacon Yarn Studio in Sidney. The festivities will begin at 9:00 a.m. Join us for food and fun. We can work on our projects and decide which country has the best / tackiest uniforms.
